Applications - Security

This special market segment has been growing dynamically during the last few years. It is the Security Applications arena, which has been particularly growing after 11 September, 2001. Worldwide, people are asking for a higher level of security in different places, like cities, public buildings, factories, office buildings, airports and even in their own home.

Devices for entrance control, surveillance control, as well as all the related recording products like Digital Video Recorders (DVR), are used in this application. New technologies like image recognition inconjunction with image processing in digital cameras, biometric devices with fingerprint recognition or voice recognition are used in order to achieve a higher level of security. These devices are often connected to building control functions or networks.

In this sector networking is very important and SND’s technology for image recognition and networking is very useful. Already, several biometric devices have been developed by third party partners and/or customers in combination with the Hyperstone CPU.
