When starting work on our next generation real-time Ethernet based products we were looking for a partner who could provide
communications and real-time operating system expertise, fast turn solutions and a close working relationship through all
phases of the product development.

We chose SND because of their expert knowledge of the Hyperstone processor family. We took part in one of the Early Bird
schemes which enabled us to make significant steps early on in the project life. The HynetOS operating system combined
with the Hyperstone DSP provided the step change in performance that we required to enable Ethernet Powerlink to be
realized whilst offering the capability of moving to different Ethernet protocol stacks in the future.

FRABA POSITAL is a manufacturer of absolute rotary encoders for industrial automation. When we decided to integrate Industrial Ethernet to our sensor systems we had to find a partner for an Embedded Operating System. Smart Network Devices provided us with a unique scalable solution and outstanding technical support.

Due to an excellent reference design with an integrated fast Ethernet interface it was possible to integrate Smart Network Devices HyNetOS and all standard protocols into our products without a major initial investment, and with a short time to market. At a later stage the reference design could be replaced with our own product specific hardware design without major changes in the software. Undertaking the project in this way allows us to retain previous investments and knowledge. We undertook our first sensor system with integrated Webserver and fast Ethernet interface in 2001. Ingenieurbüro Gieselmann / Gipro GmbH

The Ingenieurbüro Christian Gieselmann develops and manufactures image processing systems for various applications in quality assurance, farming, safety engineering, etc.. Some specific customer applications have included, e.g. barcode scanners, data matrix readers, bottle shape analysers, and security readers for returns to vending machines.

The basis of the intelligent image recognition systems are excellent camera systems designed and produced by SND based on high end system on chip solutions.
