Products - Micro WebTarget®, Micro BlueTarget®, StarTarget™

The hardware architectures utilised in Smart Network Devices products are 32-Bit based. We continue to work closely with Hyperstone AG, and use their powerful combined RISC/DSP processors in our products. Now, in addition to the Hyperstone portfolio, we are also offering ARM based processor products. The first utilises STMicroelectronics SPEAr™ Net processor (ARM720T based). Both processor cores are ideal for meeting all the criteria needed for the design of modern resource-critical embedded systems. Further product details and performance details can be found below.

As stated above, we continue to work closely with Hyperstone AG, and as their processor core is also available as a Verilog Macro Cell, we have assisted Hyperstone in the specification of a family of Single Chip Network Communication System IC's, integrating all system components to the highest possible degree according to system functionality. The first of this family will be available shortly and evidenced in the Micro WebTarget3 Single Board Computer.

Today SND is supplying different reference designs based on the Hyperstone E1-16/32XSR CPU (the Micro WebTarget® & Micro BlueTarget®), and STMicroelectronics SPEAR-07-NC03 SPEAr™ Net CPU (the StarTarget™). The Target boards can be used as a CPU-Module for OEM-customers, or the basis of a networked system. Already several customers are using these different boards in their applications and we are producing more than 10k units/yr with high quality and fully guaranteed for 24 months. Again, the extension boards can be used as reference designs or can be purchased in their own right.

Reference Design: Micro WebTarget2 Single Board Computer MWT2/XS

Characteristics: RISC/DSP processor hyperstone E1-16XS with 128 MHz clock. 8 MByte SDRAM (main memory). 2 MByte Flash RAM (rewritable memory for permanent storage). 10BaseT/100BaseTX Ethernet Interface (SMSC LAN91C111). Universal I/O Interface (8 bit data bus, for peripheral hardware extensions). Serial Communications Controller (UART/SPI/I2C for peripheral hardware extensions). Power Supply: 3.3 Volts. Typical operating power consumption: less than 1W. PCB dimensions: 3.2 x 4.1 cm.

Reference Design: StarTarget™7 Single Board Computer STAR7

Characteristics: RISC/DSP processor STMicroelectronics SPEAR-07-NC03 with 48 MHz clock. 8 MByte SDRAM (main memory). 2 MByte Flash RAM (rewritable memory for permanent storage). 10BaseT/100BaseTX Ethernet PHY Transceiver x2 (Teridian 78Q2133). Ultra Fast 3 Port Ethernet Hub Power Supply: 3.3 Volts. Typical operating power consumption: less than 1W. PCB dimensions: 3.0 x 3.8 cm.

Reference Design: Micro BlueTarget Single Board Computer MBT/XS

Characteristics: RISC/DSP processor hyperstone E1-16XS with 120 MHz clock. 8 MByte SDRAM (main memory). 2 MByte Flash RAM (rewritable memory for permanent storage). 10BaseT/100BaseTX Ethernet Interface (SMSC LAN91C111). Universal I/O Interface (8 bit data bus, for peripheral hardware extensions). Serial Communications Controller (UART/SPI/I2C for peripheral hardware extensions). Bluetooth Interface for 10m range (including antenna) Power Supply: 3.3 Volts. Typical operating power consumption: less than 1W. PCB dimensions: 3.2 x 5.9 cm.

Various Extension Boards as reference designs for the Development Kits are available as well like Netview Extension for cameras, LCD-KeyPad for simple keypads and displays and many more.
